We’ve had a pretty mild winter so far and it’s supposed to be cold tomorrow – dress appropriately (remember that 8k on snowshoes will likely take longer for most of us than an 8k road or trail run) and bring dry clothes for after the race.

AND THE FORECAST IS – SNOW FOR CAMP SARATOGA!
Only one series race this weekend, the Camp Saratoga 8k on Saturday 2/8. This is the 2nd oldest race in our series and features plenty of rolling hills in the beautiful Wilton Wildlife Preserve. RD Laura Clark reports that there was snow covering most of the course when the initial round of course marking was done on Wednesday, Thursday’s storm added some snow on top of that, and Friday afternoon’s storm should leave a nice layer of fresh powder just in time for the 10:30 AM start on Saturday morning. Registration/check-in is from 9:15-10:15 in the cabin near the restrooms. Note that depending on how many people show up, you could end up parking up to a quarter of a mile from the registration area, so leave enough time to walk to registration and get ready for the start. All the relevant race information can be found here.
SARATOGA WINTERFEST 3.3mi ICE-COVERED TRAIL RACE RESULTS

JANUARY ROUNDUP PART 5 – Gurney Lane Slightly Less Than 5k Slushy Snowshoe Race
Race results for the 1/26/2020 Gurney Lane snowshoe race can be found here.
Our thanks go out to RD Bob Underwood and his crew of volunteers for being willing to reschedule from their earlier snowless date and for pulling off a fun race under sloppy conditions!
