UPCOMING EVENTS 1/10 – 1/17

Weather can play a huge role in what kind of event is held (snowshoe vs trail) or even if an event is held at all – so it’s a good idea to check race websites for updates as the date gets close. I will also try to post updates as I get them, but sometimes life gets busy…

Wed 1/10 – week #1 of the weekly Gore Nordic Citizen’s races. Tuesday’s snow forecast for North Creek looks hopeful for this one, hopefully the rain that’s supposed to follow the snow won’t cause problems. Here’s what the Gore website has to say about Wed nights in general: “Registration is inside the Joe Minder Lodge at the Ski Bowl beginning at 5 pm. Registration will close at 5:50 pm and the race begins at 6 pm with a mass start. When registering, participants can choose to race (or walk) on snowshoes, or can classic or skate ski.  The distance options are 1.25K (1 Loop), 2.5K (2 Loops), 3.75K (3 Loops), and 5K (4 Loops) on the Ski Bowl’s professionally maintained and brightly lit stadium course.” $12 or a season pass gets you in on the fun for the evening. Facebook updates here.

Sun 1/14 – Cock-a-Doodle-Shoe 5k/10k/kids races, all the info can be found here. If you’ve done this one before, it looks like they’re changing the courses to start at the clubhouse (where they’ve always finished) and the 10k will be 2 loops of the 5k course. Online pre-reg through Saturday is here, no race day reg. Facebook updates here.

Wed 1/17 – week #2 of the Wed night Gore Nordic races, same info as for 1/10.
